I would advice against trusting uncritically anything WSJ or any english media say on China policy.
Especially when it is anything that has to do with your hard earned money.

A power transmission project spanning 2,290 km from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to southwest Chongqing Municipality is expected to promote energy security and carbon neutrality.
I think it will be just like what always happen before, media predict something bad will happen to China in the future because of this and that, but never actually happen.
Western media could play this game forever, but the wagon will just keep moving on.
As can be seen from the graph below, there is a big surge of China import and export above historic (pre pandemic) trend since 2020, the recent decline in China import and export is just getting back to historic trend because in the past few years it has been way above normal.
Getting too much FAKE news is not good for you. That is something so simple that even a highschooler would understand.
Sometimes I wonder what are they thinking when I see western media brainwashing their own population with FAKE news, don't they know that there will be bad consequences?
