How many of these cities have you been to?

Understood. I thought the distance between Karachi and Hyderabad was your problem. Camping on Hyderabad-Karachi highway is certainly not a good idea.

How many of these cities have you been to?

When was this, I mean your project? The distance between Karachi & Hyderabad (& Karachi & Thatta) isn't that long. If I were to be assigned any project on or around Hyderabad-Karachi highway I would have gone back to either city after the days work, depending on which is nearer.

How many of these cities have you been to?

True, but you could have either gone back to Hyderabad or Karachi after days work (?).

How many of these cities have you been to?

The car ride is more or less 1hr:30mins, end-to-end of the highway. Trains could take longer but it certainly shouldn't be 3 hrs. I have family members who have travelled to and from Hyderabad and Karachi via train citing the same amount of travel time. The early 2000s were long ago. It worries...

How many of these cities have you been to?

That's a slow train ride. Hyderabad-Karachi takes more or less 1hr:30mins. Travel time to Thatta is even less. Now there are Bahria Town, DHA City and other settlement projects going adjacent to Hyderbad-Karachi highway, for good or bad. But, yes, Karachi stands on a rocky and sandy (arid) land.

PAF and The Case for Eurofighter Typhoon

You have hit the nails on the right spot. These are indeed important points and there is still a lot more to it. Indeed I don't see austerity contributing to improving the currency value but in the long run, the benefits will eventually output good macro-economic results all around, if the...

PAF and The Case for Eurofighter Typhoon

I am again going to approach this subject theoretically. Wars are too unpredictable to bet on a set of skirmishes. For smaller forces like PAF, it makes little sense to hope for such tactics against a bigger and better-equipped opponent. Probability of achieving limited gains might be low while...

PAF and The Case for Eurofighter Typhoon

Theoretically, all that you have said is correct. I do, however, respectfully differ on the 3rd paragraph. If a full-scale war breaks out, neither air forces would play defensive. For forces that are heavily dependent on technologies as means of fighting, its either "use it or lose it"...

Sheikh Rasheed confirms/hints about buying J-10 Jets

Technically yes, philosophically no. F-15 Eagle was built as a dedicated tactical air-superiority fighter. Whereas F-16 was designed as a lighter multirole fighter. Both aircraft were and still are intended to complement each other. Initially, USAF was not interested in a multirole version of...

Sheikh Rasheed confirms/hints about buying J-10 Jets

Yes. Although it has matured significantly, J-10C would only make sense if Blk3 either fails to be inducted on time (takes much longer then expected) or completely fails. If neither worse case scenarios take place then there is no point in having "chota bhai (JF-17), bara bhai (J-10C)"...

OPINION: Teaching Right History of Pakistan

Ah! abandon your bloodline for those who have invaded and plundered your land? (Jinnah is probably the only local lad in the entire lot). Let's just reinforce the [false] narrative of Hindutva extremists that all Muslims in South Asia are children of invaders and must be expelled. Just so you...

Egypt’s Al-Azhar issues fatwa on Pakistani president's request, permits suspension of Friday prayers

Start with "The Crusades Through Arab Eyes" by Amin Maalouf. It's concise yet very informative and a good read.

Narendra Modi, Why Won't You Help These Hindus?!

They are sort of nomadic people and have relatives on both sides of the border. In some cases, you will find members of the same household on the two sides of the border as they have been travelling between the two countries, both legally and illegally. In many cases, they prefer settling in...

Narendra Modi, Why Won't You Help These Hindus?!

They'll just give them domicile for Kashmir to increase the Hindu population on paper but dump these migrants in the urban slums. Unfortunately, Pakistani authorities seem unable to grasp this & have been letting these Hindus go. In my village, I strongly discourage the Kolhi and Bagri community...

India to lose Trillions in COVID-19 Pandemic

That's is quite possible. Production of the aircraft is already affected by the coronavirus. But that's not just limited to France/Dassault. The F-35 testings have also been halted. This may lead to either reduced production or bring it to halt altogether.

2018 Netflix TV show predicted Coronavirus outbreak

Coronavirus is known to have existed since the 1960s, in birds and animals as well as people. Over the years it has mutated to various species like the infamous SARS and MERS. Its latest addition is COVID-19. So one should not be surprised to find the term coronavirus and a more dangerous...

Egypt’s Al-Azhar issues fatwa on Pakistani president's request, permits suspension of Friday prayers

Let me first say that my knowledge about Al-Azhar, beyond what I have already alluded to, is meagre. But when we talk about Salah al-Din in Egypt we need to distinguish between Salah al-Din the commander/governor of Egypt and Salah al-Din the ruler of Egypt. These are two different instances. In...
