why not use a technological solution. Instead of buying an expensive plane, make a virtual meeting room. Now you might say there is a huge time difference between USA and Australia, but that wasn't part of your question.

but it still needs to defence itself from incoming missiles. So probably with two external fuel tanks, it can only refuel one plane ? Otherwise MasterKhan is right, the big air refueller will be shot down easily. Maybe we just need fighters/bombers with longe range and forget about air refueling.
