A simpler solution to achieve that in the short term would be to mount powerful engines(top tier that China has to offer) with a relatively light helicopter... ...it would be akin to JF17...it would sacrifice payload capabilities and some internal room for possibly more powerful avionics or...

Doesn't have to be black and white...masterful diplomacy hardly ever is that clear cut. Look at India for example...they have been trying to play both sides(trying to keep Russia and the west happy)...and until this Ukraine/Russia war...it was working.

IMO it is "another type" added into the mix for the short term...in the long run PAF and PA can also standardize on this platform.

Is there a reason Pak is operating so many different types of drones that are seemingly similar in capabilities? Like for example WL1/WL2, CH4, TB2...while also having Shahpar(slightly less capable than those) and working on a MALE drone under Azm? It seems like an inefficient approach. Wouldn't...
