Limitation of composite manufacturing IMHO. Composites are being done in a very desi jugarh fashion but work is being done to bring the standards up. However, this kind of capacity building takes several years to show up in systems.
They've been requesting all right. I've said this elsewhere. Will our request be accepted (or will they even take anything we offer seriously) is a whole other question.
Went there on a visit. VC gave presentation on how they were going to revolutionize pakistans aviation industry. When pressed on specifics there were none. The entire time we were told of how many buildings they had built, how many buildings were planned, and how many students they were...
It should be obvious that that can only happen if China is on board with that. I don't think it is. The JF-17 program was envisioned as a 3 block program. I doubt PAC has the resources or the capacity to go at this on their own.
I didn't see the video but I've seen these presentations a lot...
Hubris. It got approved because of hubris. Musalman jab ehad karleta hai to sab hojata hai is the kind of stuff I heard with my own ears when I questioned the guy politely. Hubris. Self delusion. I don't know man.
Like I said earlier, outsiders think that our forces are institutions unlike...
Maybe. But the locally produced J-10s are going to be expensive and extremely delayed compared to the J-10s that we can buy from China. We could manufacture J-10s for China but I doubt they have a need that Pakistan can fulfill.
Also, China is increasingly operating like the established...
Something to think about:
Once JF-17 Block 3 numbers are produced most of PAC AMF is going to be idle. It is a huge setup and the PAF really really wants it not to sit idle in a couple of years.
A few people (including the airchief at that time) thought the solution to this problem (being a...
Yaar I've seen these fancy buildings before. We are excellent at buildings. To me NASTP is just PAFs attempt to get in on the decent army led NSTP. Why they feel the need to make an entirely parallel setup and that too INSIDE an airforce base is beyond me. You can imagine the kind of startup...
Lack of buy in from stakeholders. I kept repeating that Project Azm would require across the board buy in similar to and greater than the nuclear program. But evidently this was just the idea of some people. It's a shame that we invest so much into the whims of a few people instead of well...
There's a lot of discussion here that sort of thinks that Kizilelma and TFX are sister programs. The truth is that TA and Baykar are competitors and there is little to no sideways flow of tech - except of course the odd engineer switching jobs. MMU is an entirely independent program that is well...
@SQ8 is absolutely right about that canard story. I have told this story elsewhere and have confirmed it from not one but two people directly involved.
On topic: the tweets about TFX/MMU with #Azm are especially depressing and pathetic. The delusions of grandeur are mind boggling. Fazool main...
Your argument is of course sound but it is too complicated for the average awami mind that has never evolved beyond the herd mentality of "maira baba baba, taira baba kutta."
Are we slow as a nation? I don't know. But the level of discourse certainly suggests so. My life is an endless cycle of...
