I would probably agree with that if it wasn't for Pakistan's unnatural interest in the TFX. What you say will probably happen but the way I read it is that Pakistan has nonzero confidence in a non-western engined TFX that it can buy into. Why else is it putting its fingers into TFX?
Definitely...
A lot of Pakistanis in particular are working on the TF-X as I'm sure you know. I know several personally.
Perhaps you can shed light on why TAI has felt that it needed to rope in Pakistanis in particular when it could have had a pick of everyone. And no, I don't think its because Pakistanis...
Yeah, I literally no know one that willingly wants to stay in gov orgs.
The privatization of our aerospace industry is a great thing in my opinion. However, like I said in my earlier post, Pakistan's economy needs to pick up if any of these private companies are to survive.
Lately I've been struggling to convince my immidiate family in Pakistan of these ideas, which is where my pessimism is coming from. But you're right. The best any human can hope for is to champion ideas and hope that they eventually stick.
You began your post with in short. And even though your post might not appear short, it is short relative to what it is trying to address. Which brings me nicely to the rather disappointing responses on this thread that reflect how the majority thinks: Pakistan's problems have simple solutions...
I think there is. Some systems are being trialed from what I've heard.
I know people will wonder about this but I don't think that there are any serious local systems. The reason for this is simply the slow and bureaucratic nature of our R&D orgs. Something more private and swift is needed to...
At the risk of putting words in @Bilal Khan (Quwa) 's mouth: leaders does not mean IK, Bajwa, NS or someone. Leaders are those guys PLUS
-all of your MNAs MPAs
-your big businessmen that own banks, sugarmills, and real estate
-your big military business under the "Fauji" brand
Pakistan cannot...
I think this is just the burden of the momentum of controlling petrol prices. Pakistan's economy has been selectively socialist in the weirdest and most damaging ways possible. I think the global increase in oil prices has been the straw that broke the camel's back. IMHO the oil prices are never...
I find the historical and linguistic turn that this thread has taken pleasantly surprising given how it started out. As a native Urdu speaker currently learning Turkish, let me just say that there is much more common between the two languages than 24 words as @Novus ordu seclorum seems to say. I...
Interestingly this

is going on in parallel. So this might be carrot and stick, and not just carrot as we might be thinking.
I don't know. The decision makers have a vested interest in the continuation of this system so don't expect them to do anything out of self interest that's for sure.
It's a chicken and egg thing. Is political instability leading to economic failure or is economic failure leading to political instability.
On your point about comparison to other countries - fair point. But here's how Pakistan is special: Pakistan's elite invests primarily in non productive...
You are right. But all political parties in Pakistan - PTI PPP PMLN - are on the same page on preventing any meaningful local city governments from taking hold. Take one guess why that is. There aren't enough rich people in Pakistan to be put into local governments in all cities so that level of...
I can see fragments of my opinion on this matter in the above posts, which I will crystalize below.
First of all, I think this thread is important and is THE question Pakistanis need to ask. IMHO conspiracy, corruption, selected, imported, are all truck ki batti. Seriously.
Pakistan's...
PAC is an aerospace factory and that's a great thing. We certainly need those.
Having aerospace R&D is also a great thing. I think project Azm was a misstep and NASTP is becoming its correction.
I will not bring NESCOM or other SPD organizations into this discussion because their purpose is...
