All combined these fiefdoms are spending 113 billion dollars on their incompetent military forces per year plus giving bases to US, France and Britain and they are still afraid of Iran. Pathetic.
Persian Gulf states invest billions in missile defences to protect against Iran
Iran counters by developing the Soumar cruise missile with a 1,200-mile range, says the International Institute for Strategic Studies

That is true. But Iran's air force is really in need to get modernized. And these are not mutually exclusive. With correct planning and a bit of luck Iran can go for both.
And we should have even more. Along with newer technologies.
By the way, I did not see any Turkish members here...
That is what I am saying. That Iran should learn from India and get a production line and not just a few planes manufactured in Russia and then remain dependent on Russia forever for spares and overhauls etc.
It is better to learn fishing than to buy the fish. Specially if your country is...
Only in-house production for Iran makes sense. When sanctions return, Nashik will never be seen by Iranians again. Did you know that Iran also "co-owned" a uranium enrichment plant with France in France? Iran never saw even a gram of enriched uranium from that plant.
This is the lesson...
Another thing to note, is the fact that once you have a platform you can upgrade it with PESA or AESA or optical systems etc etc.
If you have a superior platform, those upgrades would go a long way. On a poor platform those upgrades would not mean much.
Sukhoi platform by the way has a very...
F-15E will dominate over any F-16 model. They don't call it air superiority fighter for nothing. Similarly F-22 designed as an air superiority fighter will dominate over any F-35 (and practically anything out there except perhaps T-50 and the Chinese 5th generation fighter project).
Similarly...
Su-34 is not a conversion of Su-24, they are completely different platforms. From design stage they are separate from each other, though both were designed for a similar role.
Su-30 and Su-35 are a single platform in the sense that they share core designs with each other. And though a country...
Basically Mig is bankrupt. They lost to Sukhoi. They don't have money to develop any new platform and are just toying around with what they have. Not to mention that the Mig-29/35 platform vs Su-27/30/35 platforms were analogous and a Russian imitation of the American doctrine of the cold war...
For Iran, cost is not an issue. Technology is. Some day Iran will be sanctioned again. This is what every Iranian knows. Iran should use this breathing time to accumulate as much technology as possible.
A production line is very useful since it can then enable Iran to expand it and modify it to...
That should be the hope. By the way it is a good plane with its "sharky looks":
Well, no one knows yet. No detail is out there. But Mig-35 is not as good as Su-35. There is simply no comparison. Su-35 has a class of its own among the fourth generation fighters.
I would rather prefer if Iran learns from India and rather builds the planes under license with ToT as India is doing. There are a million jobless Iranian engineers sitting around twiddling their thumbs, and Iran should not import anything without some sort of ToT, whether fighter planes or cars...
Well, no detail is out there yet. From my perspective, I see both as a single platform. Though clearly Su-35 is more superior because of integration of newer technologies but they are not separate platforms. What I am interested in though, is if Iran is getting a technology transfer for in-house...
I hope the agreement is similar to Indian agreement with Russia for co-production of the planes and not like the Su-30 agreement Venezuela had done with Russia, wherein just a few planes are bought from originating country with no transfer of technology.
Iran to Purchase Sukhoi-30 Fighter Jets From Russia - ABC News
Iran's Defense Minister says his country will sign a contract with Russia for the purchase of Sukhoi-30 fighter jets.
In comments published Wednesday, Gen. Hossein Dehghan did not specify how many fighter planes Iran will buy, or...
That is a dumb comment from you. There are millions of people who move around the world. There are millions of Irish and Scottish people who have immigrated to Americas. Iranians living outside of Iran is actually a good thing.
And just because you haven't heard about something does not mean...
After 7 years of residence, you become eligible to apply for Iranian nationality. Just to let you know in case you are interested in becoming citizen of "Evil Persian Majoosi Empire" (EPME). :D
There is nothing in the world, like being evil. :chilli:
It is just chest thumping. Nothing more. Both IMF and World Bank are warning that Saudis will go bankrupt.
Saudis Arabia imports all of what it consumes. It is a one trick pony. It sells oil and uses that money to import cars, food, clothes, doctors, construction workers, baby-sitters, military...
