    Iran’s 600 Missiles

No. That does not work. It simply turns everyone who is left alive in the populace into your enemy. The US killed 2 million Vietnamese civilians, you can see how that worked out. All sides killed millions of civilians in city terror bombing in WW2, it didn't significantly effect the outcome of...

Israeli threat to attack Iran over nuclear weapons

Data or logical argument is required to have a discussion. Try it sometime.

    usa makes war with pakistan?

The US has never denied responsibility for air strikes in Pakistan. Furthermore, the US has no reason to invade Pakistan with the possible exception of a section of FATA. A conventional conflict between Pakistan and the US would be short and brutal, any reasonably intelligent and objective...

    Brave New World?

Hmm, that is a whole lot of articles, some of the points from one contradict the others. It is a bit of a mess. Good articles, but maybe this should have been broken up into more than one thread? I don't even know what to discuss.

    Taliban capture US helicopter parts

Yeah, it would be fun to see video of them trying to fly one, but I really, really doubt they could assemble it.

    'Historic' Pakistan Defence Move.

Then I suppose most western democracies are really stupid? The point is that the trust of the people of your own nation is more important than the facts that a theoretical enemy could get from your defense budget. Anyway, the interested parties would already know more about the nations fighting...

    How good are the SSG's

When you say "Based on US SF model" Which model are you referring to? Delta has a very different model than the Green Berets, who both have very different models than Force Recon and the Seals. The Seals build a seaman from the ground up to be a special type of SCUBA and amphibious operator...

    Pakistan reveals defence spending

Actually, I have met the sons of Pakistani Generals going to US colleges that cost 30,000-40,000 a year.. Of course 1-2 cases does not mean anything, but you do run across them in US Engineering colleges or in the UK law colleges. Also, plenty of people in the US are worth 3-4 million dollars at...

    Strike from 30 thousand feet.

The entire loaded weight of the predator is about 1 tonne. It is a 27 foot long drone with the largest possible missile being the hellfire. That has an 18 lb warhead. Look at the pictures and tell me the damage was done with less than 9 KG of explosives? The munition is designed to take out...

Pakistan’s nuclear and missile assets -- myth vs reality

On the subject of Super Computers. As someone who has worked at NCSA (National Center for Supercomputing Applications) in an extremely minor role, I can tell you that the hardware is not the issue. The current fastest supercomputer is built out of PS3 game consoles(Not to say it is cheap...

    Indian troops killed in Kashmir

Stealth Assassin: Good on India then... Is there any negotiation or process in place to have the populace vote on joining one nation or the other? Perhaps to set up the zone as some type of temporarily independent UN mandate? Fact please, not conjecture. Try to maintain a civilized discourse...

    Indian troops killed in Kashmir

Jana, I don't think anyone is debating the fact that the Indian Army has committed plenty of human rights violations over the years. The issue now is how do you resolve the situation? Any suggestions that don't involve terrorism?

Taliban fighters take over several Afghan villages

I doubt they are going to stick around for long, they know what happens if lightly armed troops hang around a wait for NATO armor and air power to show up. Still though, a very well planned operation, and a significant political blow. You can loose all the battles and still win the war. NATO...

    Indian troops killed in Kashmir

Independent groups based in Europe and the US have given lurid and detailed accountings of hundreds of human rights violations by both sides. India has a long and proud history of "Madate by Mob Action" so this comes as no surprise. The Insurgency plays out in much the same fashion as Islamic...

Israeli threat to attack Iran over nuclear weapons

The real issue is range and US plausible deniability. Without US tanker and AWACS support, the IAF can't pull it off. But if the conflict drags on, this support becomes impossible to hide, and the Iranians respond with asymmetric warfare. The Isrealies have done alot of back-pedaling lately, and...

    Indian troops killed in Kashmir

So somone, please enlighten me on the current Kashmir situation. Any links to useful (Objective) articles? Perhaps a thread on the subject? Also why did a "plebiscite to ascertain the wishes of the people" never occur?

    Indian troops killed in Kashmir

Okay, I don't know anything about the situation, but how is killing a bunch of people who are trying to help build infrastructure "Freedom Fighting" (Even if they are wearing a uniform)? Unless you are just trying to instill fear and hatred... but I think that's usually called "Terrorism".
