HAL selects Power Plant for Light Utility Helicopter (LUH)

FADEC has been developed by DARE for Kaveri and it is named KADECU(Kaveri Digital Engine Control Unit). GTRE has passed global tender to design and develope Brisk fan for 75KN/110KN class AMCA engine. We'll know more about participants after 30april.

HAL to produce cryogenic engines for ISRO

Though all relevent details that i've searched are posted on ISRO's thread,I'll post in brief(i have test tommrrow @ 7:30am) CE development:CE-20(open gas generator cycled),CE-60(closed staged combustion cycled). SCE development:SCE-160(closed staged combustion). CE-20 will be fully developed in...

HAL to produce cryogenic engines for ISRO

F-1A :the most powerful ,single chambered SCE powered 1st stage of Saturn V much earliar N-1 moon rocket. Russian designers use concept of shared turbopumps and they faced problems of combustion instability,in 1950s while designing bigger thrust chambers. At that time they solved the problem...

HAL to produce cryogenic engines for ISRO

No,every CE/SCE has separate turbopumps for handling Fuel and oxidiser. So Fuel turbopumps require less harse metullargy in SCE engines also you don't need to bother about hydrogen embrittlement in SCE. Each turbopump has two parts:pump and turbine. Staged combustion engines: exhaust product from...

HAL to produce cryogenic engines for ISRO

Yeah, thats because It uses LOX and kerosene. This fuel mixture gives more energy per mass volume than Hydrogen oxygen fuel mixture. SSME has the highest TWR among all cryogenic engines.

HAL to produce cryogenic engines for ISRO

Any CE has minimum two separate turbopump.SSME has 4 turbopumps and two of them are high pressure oxidiser/fuel turbopump.Having both preburner for oxygen rich and fuel rich each, will give extraordinary thrust but at the cost of very complex engine.

HAL to produce cryogenic engines for ISRO

SSME uses Staged combustion cycle with dual preburner, that's why it is the most complicated cryo-engine.ISRO is developing that too but with single preburner.

    Indian AMCA proposal

Even after giving official illustration he constantly passing BS remarks. Sir,the whole hullagulla is about AMCA having S-duct intakes and supercruise capability and Even after giving ADA official illustrations he is passing non-sense remarks. It would be better,if you close this thread.

AMCA older design is clearly showing serpentine intakes.

    Indian AMCA proposal

But it will follow basic laws of reflection. 1.Stealth:using any methods hide GT compressors(radar blockers, serpentine intakes) 2. Supercruise. This means supersonic speed without using fuel-guzzling afterburners. 3. Supermaneuverability. Thrust vectoring. 4. Short-takeoff.

    Indian AMCA proposal

---------- No ,you only need a low drag design queen with very high dry thrust in order to achieve supercruise.Due to TWR(dry) F-35 is unable to supercruise and length of intake does'nt matter. 1.First of all Rafale can supercruise. If 15.7m long F-35 can have S-duct intakes then why can't...

    Indian AMCA proposal

If 15.7m F-35 can have serpentine intake then why can't 16-17m class AMCA.As i said before, Any supersonic engine is capable of surviving supercruise conditions in any intakes, but they must have high dry thrust to achieve supercruise capability. F-35 MTOW-31.8T TWR(dry):.3 AMCA MTOW-20T...

    Indian AMCA proposal

Relax you are taking a load of garbage of an article way too much seriously nothing is being "put on hold" as the dork reports, scientists in DRDO work on multiple projects at the same time. It's nothing new, obviously the dork journo has no idea how DRDO functions and is making up junk based...

AMCA MTOW is around 20T and MTOW is expected to be equivalent to that of the F-16 B60. First get your facts correct, the Engine that will power AMCA will have 75KN/110KN configuration

@Martian2: The pic you have posted is not correct representation. It was made by some member if BR,which was horribly wrong.length of 13.2M is wrong, heck its even less than LCA ,it will be around 16-17m. There is nothing wrong with your illustration.Serpentine intakes are covered with RAM...
