Coronavirus is a breeding ground for conspiracy theories: Med Express

This site is infected by coronavirus-conspiracy-theoryitis. Authorities on the front line in the battle against the spread of this phenomenon have demonstrated courageous determination, but we must all remain vigilant and assist if necessary.

Coronavirus origins? Words of Chairman Xi raise new questions

Do you ever watch Fox News and CNN to see how they report differently on the same story? Sometimes its useful to try and find the middle ground on a story, with those two representing the two opposite ends of the spectrum. To be honest, when reading the news I generally read the business...

Coronavirus origins? Words of Chairman Xi raise new questions

'Likes' on social media is the least reliable of metrics to evaluate the popularity of businesses or platforms of any type. I don't even accept supposedly reliable data/analytics at face value without drilling down in more detail. Determining accuracy of information can be a big factor in...

Coronavirus origins? Words of Chairman Xi raise new questions

Occam's Razor probably suggests that the Wuhan Institute of virology is the most likely source of SARS-CoV-2 (as it is now known until its changed again), the article suggests several possibilities on exactly how it escaped. There are still other possibilities, with theories ranging from...

New coronavirus cases in mainland China fall to lowest since January

The scary thing is that the best experts still have much to learn about this virus, fear of the unknown is driving a lot of the irrational behavior we are witnessing around the world. In the end we are all in this struggle together.

    COVID-19 management, Chinese diplomatic scores

New Zealand has just confirmed its first case, a 60 year old woman returning from Iran.

New coronavirus cases in mainland China fall to lowest since January

There is sufficient empirical evidence now to doubt that. Outbreaks are occurring in hot and humid climates, for example Singapore.

WHO envoy says if he had COVID-19 , he'd 'want to be treated in China'

BTW, I just read the latest issue of Thor, and Storm-breaker........., ummm,...not sure how to put this,...isn't in the best of shape. https://comiconlinefree.com/thor-2020/issue-3

WHO envoy says if he had COVID-19 , he'd 'want to be treated in China'

I have a funny feeling I won't need to go anywhere, it will get here eventually. Hopefully not before the vaccine is available.

WHO envoy says if he had COVID-19 , he'd 'want to be treated in China'

One day when this is all over. :-) In the meantime, I'll have to settle with staying here in corona-virus free New Zealand. Although how long that lasts in anybodies guess.

    Real-time update on coronavirus outbreak

Some hard choices being made in China, with many more to be made elsewhere in due time. Relax containment and quarantine measures to stimulate the economy, but risk allowing the virus to continue spreading. Or maintain/increase containment measures and risk destabilizing the economy. If the...

Japanese TV report sparks speculations in China that COVID-19 may have originated in US

That's actually a bit more plausible than the theory in the Japanese media report. But I agree with Cthulhu on this theory, refer to his post 24.

Japanese TV report sparks speculations in China that COVID-19 may have originated in US

Another stupid theory. If COVID-19 had originated in the US, given its R0 of at least 2.3 but probably somewhere between 3 and 3.5, and it has been active and unchecked since at least mid November, there would now be tens of millions of active cases of sick Americans with serious flu/pneumonia...

    Body count data

The 409 new cases today in China are 409 more than the model posted earlier predicted. Although the official numbers in China appear to be decreasing, I don't think the model was realistic as indicated by the fact there are any new cases. And that assumes that the official numbers are accurate...

U.S. Army leaks images of its new super cannon

Oh yeah, the twitter account added that group of photo's. Assuming this is legit, naval versions of this canon would open up some new possibilities such as a modern day battleship.

U.S. Army leaks images of its new super cannon

Could a naval version be used on a Zumwalt perhaps? edit: the photo on the bottom right is an M65 atomic cannon. Is this article legit or fake?

    Body count data

China has already won the battle according to the red dotted line, with total cases flat lining at just below 80,000 and no new cases from today onward. A bit odd that the observed total of confirmed and suspected cases was above that line yesterday, but no model is perfect. The trajectory of...

The flu has already killed 10,000 across US as world frets over coronavirus(RIP)

And how do we know 526 people have died from this corona-virus outbreak? The mainstream media is always exaggerating things, I think the real numbers are much lower than reported. Government officials in China are also incentivized to overstate their numbers in order to meet their quotas. The...
