Terror activities of Indian consulates in Afghanistan

Musharraf is far less credible than a reputed journalist. He represents the Pakistani point of view - nothing more and nothing less.

Terror activities of Indian consulates in Afghanistan

India is doing a lot of development work in Afghanistan. There's plenty of proof for that alright. If India really wanted to stir up things in Baluchistan, there would be atleast the same amount of violence there as in other parts of Pakistan. Balochistan seems to be the calmest part of...

US sets India rider for $1.5bn aid to Pakistan

If Pakistan is sincere for peace in the region, it should accept the terms of the agreement. What is wrong in agreeing not to sponsor terrorism ? If Pakistan refuses it will be an admission of guilt, not if it accepts.

US sets India rider for $1.5bn aid to Pakistan

This is excellent news. I think it is the first time that the US Congress has taken a concrete step to address India's concerns. I wouldn't call it coercive diplomacy. I think its only fair that Pakistan agrees to certain terms and conditions before receiving such a huge amount of...

Jogger Shoe Swirled at Indian Minister P Chadambaram

Manmohan Singh gave a public apology some time ago, though that is no substitute for justice., I would agree. But then, the Khalistan issue was a complicated one, to brand anybody but the terrorists as villains would be wrong. After all, the movement was crushed successfully, and many...

Terror activities of Indian consulates in Afghanistan

Well said S2. This constant complaining about Balochistan is simply self-deception by some Pakistanis who are unwilling to recognize the real and present threat to their country. What they need is a leader who can call a spade a spade.

Jogger Shoe Swirled at Indian Minister P Chadambaram

I would say the same for Manmohan Singh, but frankly the man is not a politician. He is more of an academic - which is of course an advantage in itself - but I feel that one needs a seasoned politician to lead the country rather than a man who has never contested an election.

Jogger Shoe Swirled at Indian Minister P Chadambaram

I agree with that. Chidambaram is a man of substance, and he does not deserve to be pulled up for what happened in 1984. I have tremendous respect for the man. He has rarely behaved in an irresponsible manner and he has handled his finance minister portfolio with great skill over the years...

Terror activities of Indian consulates in Afghanistan

I disagree significantly with the first part of your post, and there are some other issues which can be brought up but frankly that's history and since India and Pakistan agreed to a peace process, its best not to rake up these things. There has been a drop in infiltration only - and not in...

Terror activities of Indian consulates in Afghanistan

Look, you guys can bring up East Pak, and we can bring up Khalistan. You can bring up Pashtunistan and we can take it all the way back to the invasion of Kashmir in 1947. All that is history. What India wants now more than anything else is for kashmir to get some respite form the violence...

Terror activities of Indian consulates in Afghanistan

Look, its quite simple - Pakistan pours money into Kashmir, India retaliates in Balochistan. After many decades India has the opportunity to gain leverage over Pakistan with respect to the terrorism in Kashmir, and they are not going to pass up the opportunity. Still, the impact is minimal -...

    The word 'Bharati'

    Why thank you very much.

    The word 'Bharati'

I don't think we need to prohibit it. After all as Darkstar pointed out, the word itself is used quite widely, even if it doesn't mean exactly the same thing. What I've noticed, is that people tend to use "Bharati" instead of "Indian" in a negative context, thus giving the word itself a...

    The word 'Bharati'

Guilty as charged. I did indeed create the id to have a go at this, but I do hope to stay beyond this particular issue.

    The word 'Bharati'

I have seen "bharati" used as a demonym on occasion, but it seems to be rare and might be archaic. One cannot say because language keeps changing. The standard term in most school textbooks is "bharatiya". But all this is besides the point, which I think is that the usage by some people...

    The word 'Bharati'

Well, that's surprising, but my assumption was hardly out of place considering that you are presumably from Pakistan and therefore never learnt devanagari script. On the other hand, your contention that I cannot read is genuinely far-fetched.

    The word 'Bharati'

I believe I can read. Infact, I can even write! Surprising isn't it? I don't think you actually read my post. Perhaps you should check your own reading skills before questioning mine?
