The hand has been reattached by the doctors at PGI, Chandigarh.

US became the first country in the world to record more than 2,000 COVID19 deaths in a single day

Only regular intake of large amounts of alcohol would be dangerous. So would be smoking a lot. Moderate use of either won't be a big deal. I think that poster is pushing propaganda here. And pre existing diseases with the highest risk are hypertension (high blood pressure), and diabetes...

Gulf stands up for Indian Muslims. Hindutava hate and racism will be dealt with.

Tarnishing the whole community because of the actions of a few isn't justified. Gulf states would be right in taking action. Though criticising faiths isn't tolerated there, even in good taste. In that regard, India is more free.

    DNA of Indonesian/Chinese/Japanese/Northen Indian/Southern Indian/Bengali and others

Most Indians have a laid back attitude. This has changed a lot in the current generation, but people are still very relaxed compared to Chinese /Japanese /Germans. Internationally exposed people, or people in certain demanding professions generally buck the trend, though.

India corona:an encouraging and inspiring post on Facebook

I live near the main institution handling this in Delhi. Testing is being done for two kinds of people. Close contacts of the ones who have tested positive, and people with symptoms suggestive of the disease. We have also locked down a few colonies which were emerging as new centres of...

Sad images coming from new york

Reason for mass graves seems to be to avoid infection. Otherwise, the relatives would have arranged for a proper burial themselves. Incineration and burial (with proper precautions, like keeping the bodies away from the water sources and habitation) are both acceptable. Incineration-kills...

Indian expat sacked, faces jail for insulting Islam in the UAE

That sounds like a Hindutva extremist. Should be beaten up and imprisoned in dubai itself. Would go free in India. These guys don't learn humanity unless it is beaten into them.

India is seeking $6B in loans from multilateral institutions such as the Asian Development Bank

So you're trolling. Anyhow, borrowing money is not a zero sum game. At low interest rates, both sides benefit. Regarding developed country status, India is 30 to 40 years away from touching a developed country status. And even then, barely touching a mark of 12000$ GDP per capita. That's...

India is seeking $6B in loans from multilateral institutions such as the Asian Development Bank

It is almost always a smart idea to take low interest loans. It is like free money. But to understand that, you need to understand economics, I guess.

Corona and the social boycott of muslims in india

Not in India. Have you seen the crowds at KFCs, burger King etc? These joints opened recently and are doing brisk business. The most common dish ordered in India is Biryani. This has been true for the last 3 years. Amongst the biryanis, chicken biryani has the highest demand. Your can find the...

Indian vegetarian allowed to break curfew to buy food for cat

In Delhi, we are going out to buy groceries and cat /pet food. It is important to go alone, and not form groups, though.

Corona and the social boycott of muslims in india

Typically, vegetarian Hindus tend to have a problem with Muslims. But vegetarianism is on a rapid decline in India. Very few Muslims are part of the Jamaat. I wouldn't associate with anyone who's that serious about faith. But most of the good food I eat is served at Muslim owned places...

Muslim Family attacked by Hindu neighbors for dishonouring PM Modi's appeal to switch off lights

Haryana and western UP guys tend to be extremists and violent. Not surprising. Violence for petty reasons is a part of culture there.

    Coronavirus Case Counts Are Meaningless*

Those two use similar sources. I'm not talking about such a minor difference. Some states are likely under reporting the number of cases. There is some pressure on the doctors, from the administration. Unconfirmed cases may be reported as some other disease like dengue like illness. I don't...

    Coronavirus Case Counts Are Meaningless*

I would not consider the death figures accurate either, at least for developing countries. Many deaths are being covered up. The politicians don't want a large casualty count against the name of their state /province.

Rajasthan Doctor refuses to admit pregnant woman because she's Muslim, her child dies after delivery

Political claim. If you can read the report, it clearly says that the patient was already bleeding. This is not a job a small setup can handle. I have handled such cases during training, and it needs rapid blood transfusions. It needs an access to a blood bank. And if uncontrolled, we may need...

Rajasthan Doctor refuses to admit pregnant woman because she's Muslim, her child dies after delivery

This was a serious case which couldn't be handled at a small setup. Hence the patient was referred to a higher setup. The patient party needs to be arrested and fined for spreading misinformation. The forum members who believe that doctors will do this, must be severely radicalised. Side note -...

Indian Muslims Have Lost Faith In National Institutions And ‘Secularism’!

Ideally, yes. But most people in India aren't prosperous or educated enough to give up their beliefs which conflict with modern thought. The law needs to push secularism and modernity, with force if required. This will likely be unpopular in villages and ghettos. But it is the need of the time.
