I'm not too sure. It doesn't really seem like all people hate him. Recent surveys show that Nawaz League is still popular. Nawaz's return may help them regain what they've lost. The people may see Nawaz as a hero and he may gain a cult following. I hope I'm wrong.
Nawaz's return will certainly strengthen his narrative. Optics matter and it is advantage Nawaz. I hope there isn't much drama in the next few days or there will be no stopping N league from getting a majority in the Parliament. IK must not do anything stupid.
This is a criminal trial. Even though the Supreme Court has the authority to judge on constitutional matters, this is a criminal case and will be dealt as such even if it gets to the Supreme Court.
Will Nawaz and Maryam have to remain in prison while the appeal is being heard? In that case, it would be stupid to return. They have very little chance of a successful appeal.
I doubt there is going to be any violence. That will be bad for N league. N league is still strong in most of Punjab, and what Nawaz and Maryam are aiming for is getting photographed in handcuffs. They will then spend one night in jail before their appeal.
They are gambling that the Islamabad...
Those decisions should be made by a judge and not the prosecutor. The judge should convict Zardari if there is evidence to do so and if he feels the sentence imposed has already been served, the judgement should reflect that.
Is there anything in the verdict that is wrong? Is there any mistake of law or fact? Is Nawaz Sharif not guilty according to you?
If Nawaz really believes he is innocent he should return and file an appeal.

I doubt he will return. He is only saying this to keep PML election chances alive. He has already said he will return only AFTER his wife regains consciousness. That will probably happen if and when PML win the elections.
Some pics from my recent trip to Swat:
This needs to be taken seriously before the damage is irreversable. Everywhere I went, residence and tourists were seen disrespecting the environment. Most residents I spoke to didn't care. Some that did pointed out that it was the residents and not...
Let's face it: our foreign policy has failed. This is not good for us. It's time for us to swallow our pride and accept that our Afghan policy is doing nothing good for the common man. We should focus on providing security, education and economic opportunities and stop wasting our resources on...
Nawaz Sharif's buddies will never let Shahbaz become the next PM or they risk being sidelined. Imagine Rana Sanaullah as the next interior minister--will be a bigger disaster than Rehman Malik.
There is no way that these messages can be retrieved. Even in the USA, agencies are unable to obtain messages that old. Imran Khan should deny he ever sent the messages. It can't be proved in court he did.
PTI should have just ignored the issue altogether. They've just dug a hole for...
