I'd like to use this thread to clear up my understanding of naval operations, and organisation. For an army commander, it is easier to decide roles for his units. Armour goes forward - does the main fighting. Infantry, a more flexible type of force either accompanies armour, or drops behind...

NO need for a crossfire. Humans are strange. For us war creates (the need for) weapons, and then weapons create war. lol :) Strong militaries are not required to fulfil ancient revenges, but to maintain deterrence and balance i.e to prevent war.

They cant do it. They'll probably try to create such a big mess there that the US and gulf countries are dragged in whether they like it or not. Since Iran will also strike US assets nearby if pushed very hard into a corner, which is the intended objective.

Quite rightly said brother. Unmanned aircrafts offer us: lower cost per unit, smaller size (smaller RCS), radically new design and tactics. And also i believe in this field, almost all countries are entering into this phase together, so we are essentially on par with countries like US, Russia...

Port calls sure are fun. :) I love how navy personnel get to see the whole world (almost), and that too with friendly protocol.

Hi. I think for CAS and air to ground operations a country like pakistan should develop its own custom solutions since our requirements are unique. There are two possible CAS scenarios, one for the very well equipped indian army which includes SAMs and massive armour divisions into the equation...

I understand how an airforce, or army operate. But i still dont get how a navy operates, like how are its vessels assigned missions depending on their class. I have seen one example of a typical US cold war style Carrier Group formation where everyone sticks together. But how would pakistans...

Hi, this is my 1st post. I read in the DAWN newspaper today: US embassy claims that R. Davis is a technical worker (thus having diplomatic immunity), i find it incompatible that a technical worker possessed GPS, long range wireless, and above all telescope and infrared headlight. :undecided:
