    China 1992, India 2012

Nepal was an Indian Kingdom, in the same sense as Gandhar was. Indian here doesnt mean country, as there was no 'India' then. Indian means civilization. And Nepal does come under the umbrella of Indian civilization.

Bollywood films are popular in China

The regional film industry is way better, I especially like many Marathi movies. Sure they have their share of downright ridiculous ones, but I could name so many more Marathi movies than Hindi ones. And as a general rule, older movies, even Hindi ones tend to be better made than the newer ones...

Maya khan's apology on 17th january 2012 episode

I have firm conviction that such intolerance for couples in both pakistan and India (let us not forget our own Ram Sene in Tier II cities) does not bode well for our cultural character. It is sick to think that lust is bad, it is a human emotion. Whether a person is married or not, related or...

    Atheists in Indian Cabinet/Ministry

Good to note...Atheism or agnosticism were well developed in ancient India.Sankhya and Yoga are demonstrably a-theistic, Vedanta is only nominally theistic. Not to say of the Buddhist and Jain traditions that reject the notion of God.Good to see signs of a return to liberalism, to each his own.

Will English kill off India's languages?

Our pride in our civilization is great enough , it will not be disturbed by speaking one language or another. And remember, Latin and Greek are sisters of Sanskrit, English therefore becomes a member of our larger heritage ? Also we have soo many distinct languages here, it helps to have a...

Forgive me , he is not a hindu nationalist. and neither am I. @Riaz Mohammed Ah yes, what you have read is at best a convenient redaction of the test. That being said it is an important thing that the education department has kept the epic in the syllabus... But i think that it has not got...
