Pakistani FM Hina Rabbani avoids Bangladeshi FM Momen’s call to seek apology for 1971 genocide at Colombo

You just cannot accept it. Bengal had the world's largest garment industry and had the best ship technology in the world while Pakistan was an agricultural backwater. As we talk here BD per capita nominal is growing at 6% while Pakistan is at 0% with BD being at 2,700 US dollars and...

Pakistani FM Hina Rabbani avoids Bangladeshi FM Momen’s call to seek apology for 1971 genocide at Colombo

Please stop embarrassing yourself as this is a known fact. It may be hard to accept but the only thing Pakistan and BD has in common is both being in S Asia and Muslim countries. The potential of each counytry is VASTLY different and we are already seeing this as BD has been independent for just...

Bangladesh’s RMG exports to US cross $10b in 2022

Indian data centre major Yotta to invest Tk2,000cr in Bangladesh

Bit harsh but good certifications like Cisco at least prove some knowledge and capability. Yes you need work experience to back this up but having a minimum cert requirement would stop a lot of people hiring corruptly as happens all the time.

Indian data centre major Yotta to invest Tk2,000cr in Bangladesh

As long as eventually all the workers onsite are BD'shis then all good. It cannot learn all by itself and so a mix of it's own and FDI is the best. This will give BD vital experience in operating such complex buildings.

Argentina to reopen embassy in Dhaka on Feb 27

I look forward to great economic relations between BD and Argentina on the back of the love that BD fans have for the Argentine football team.

Turkey earthquake: Dhaka in touch with embassy in Ankara

This is devastating and a newborn Syrian baby girl was pulled alive after her mother died while giving birth. Her father and all siblings are dead. BD must provide substantial aid to both Turkey and especially war-torn Syria as it now has means. Troops, firefighters, doctors, nurses...

Bangladesh to publish quarterly GDP data before IMF deadline

Actually garments exports are accelerating as the US shifts away from China. US GDP growth is just going upwards and now forecast at 1.5% this year. In the last 4 years they have doubled from 5 billion US dollars a year to 10 billion US dollars.

Bangladesh to publish quarterly GDP data before IMF deadline

I think there is another reason that Hasina has instructed her Finance Minister to take out this IMF loan that is no longer really necessary as it makes up just 2-3 weeks of foreign currency earnings from exports and remittances. There is a lot of corruption as per BAL in banks and other...

Bangladesh’s RMG exports to US cross $10b in 2022

Looking at the graph, it seems that Vietnam and BD are replacing falling Chinese exports on a dollar for dollar basis.

Bangladesh’s RMG exports to US cross $10b in 2022

Would have happened anyway as Chinese wages keep rising towards developed economy levels by 2030 but BD is benefitting from the accelerated shift.

Bangladesh’s RMG exports to US cross $10b in 2022

Said it before but quotas and tariff-free access are harming BD garment industry and the sooner they are removed the better.

Bangladesh to allow making motorcycles up to 500 cc but ban local use above 165 cc ones

BD has pretty much banned cars due to extremely high customs duty. Only limited numbers are assembled in BD. These 500cc cycles would be affordable to the massess and they would drain billions of US dollars in precious reserves as oil imports rocket.

Pakistani FM Hina Rabbani avoids Bangladeshi FM Momen’s call to seek apology for 1971 genocide at Colombo

When is this government going to come into existence dude? It has been 76 years since independence and Pakistan has only managed a maximum average of 3.5% per annum per capita growth in the 1980s. BD did 6% last decade and this is only going upwards.

Pakistani FM Hina Rabbani avoids Bangladeshi FM Momen’s call to seek apology for 1971 genocide at Colombo

What are you trying to argue here? Pakistan has been independent since 1947 and has a GDP per capita of 1700 US dollars nominal BD has been independent since 1947 and has a GDP per capita of 2700 US dollars nominal The average growth rate of per capita for BD is running at 6% a year and only...

Pakistan cannot compete with India, the whole world recognizes the strength of India's IT industry : Miftah Ismail

That is really sad to hear. In BD, IT has been a "thrust" sector under current BAL government and exports have been growing at 35-40% a year average since 2009. Government has put in all the building blocks like fast and reliable internet connectivity, data centres, training colleges and has...

Bangladesh’s RMG exports to US cross $10b in 2022

The best days of BD garment industry are still to come and it should aim for a minimum of 100 billion US dollars a year of garment exports by 2030.

Bangladesh to allow making motorcycles up to 500 cc but ban local use above 165 cc ones

That seems to be the real reason. It is irrelevant whether government subsidizes the cost of petrol as the dollar money still leaves the country. Another excellent policy by the BAL government.

Pakistani FM Hina Rabbani avoids Bangladeshi FM Momen’s call to seek apology for 1971 genocide at Colombo

I have said this before. BD and Pakistan as one state was just dumb. Totally different culture and 1000 miles separation. Best thing would have been for "Greater Bengal" composed of BD, Bengal, NE States and Arakhan province but that did not happen due to resistance from Congress. Pakistan...

Pakistani FM Hina Rabbani avoids Bangladeshi FM Momen’s call to seek apology for 1971 genocide at Colombo

Is this the same "independent" nation that had its government recently replaced by the US? BD publicly told US to mind its own business and get its own house in order before lecturing others on human rights. We do not think that India is capable of dictating to anyone and currently busy...
