I can see what you're saying, but I don't see how it relates to stealth. Diffraction is not the same thing as reflection, and the diffracted signal, by definition of diffraction, cannot travel back toward the source. If anything, I'd think that diffraction can only help with regard to stealth...

I think canards give you the best lift and maneuverability when placed above the wings, so in-line canards really don't help you that much. But then again, it really doesn't increase hurt your RCS either, unlike canards on the J-10, for example.
