T-50 Fighter To Feature Higher Stealth Capabilities

So does the same hold true when talking about the JF-17 which is cheap-copy of the F16's we gave the Pakistani's? I mean it's pretty much a copy of an obsolete F-16 design right?

T-50 Fighter To Feature Higher Stealth Capabilities

LOL @ J-31 being a VLO aircraft... Let me guess, you came to this conclusion after looking at some grainy photo-shopped pictures? I'd take the Russian T-50 over any of the Chinese junk (as would the rest of the world). Heck even the Chinese won't be fielding the J-31, looks like they know...

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

Thats some sound logic there bud...I mean who could argue with that. Ummm.... all the jets you listed have MAWS.

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

If that's true, then India is the first country to implement carbon composites on a fighter jet.

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

that's not the argument bud... you said Chinese implemented it first.. I just proved to you they did not. What does it have to do with production vehicles? Lockheed invented it, designed it, and implemented it. Chinese... copied it. And for the record, DSI gives you very little improvements...

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

You said that the Chinese were the first to implement DSI technology... I just proved it wrong. Lockheed invented it and implemented it (first). Very little if nothing at all.

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

Sure it has. Can't see the picture? Here it is again just for good measure. (added a caption at the bottom of the picture too, just in case the picture didn't speak for itself) ^^ F-16 upgraded with DSI. Not sure what this has to do with the DSI argument... so who cares?

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

Lockheed's F16 test bed had DSI in the mid-90's. Nice try though.

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

    Highly doubt that.

The Tejas light combat aircraft, 30 years in the making, is just 60% indigenous as of now.

So are all Chinese fighter jets 80% indigenous since they still import engines from Russia? There are only three countries that can claim the ability to build indigenous fighter jets.. USA, Frenchies and the Ruskies..

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

I understand the "roles" argument. I'm saying that your 747 analogy of a cost effective solution does not support your statements, it actually antithetical. For example, in the rest of your post, you went on to say that the PLAAF are replacing the J7's and J8's with J11/J10's... a more...

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

Oscar, I'm not sure I follow the analogy either. India bought the MKI to gain knowledge and to enhance their local aerospace industry (I'm assuming for the price they're paying, they better be building it locally). I'm sure they'd have bought 300 or more of the latest MIG's if the MKI's...

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

Then why is it that they're still employing a multitude of rust-buckets such as the J-7, J-8 and JH-7's instead of procuring the JF-17? Maybe because the JF-17's performance is only marginally better than those aircraft's and doesn't justify the increase in cost? There is no credible air force...

HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions

Sounds like something my four year old would say after he loses an argument... "I didn't want it anyways..." (basically i'm saying, your argument is childish.) Highly unlikely, even from my perspective, i'd say the Indians would outclass the Pakistanis in almost every aspect as far as a...

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

Statistics for rape cases are hard to quantify worldwide, and China is no exception. The U.S. Department of State reported 31,833 rapes in China in 2007, though the Chinese government has not released official statistics for that year. In 2005, the last year for which official Chinese statistics...

HAL pegs price of Tejas fighter at Rs 162 crore

Sure you do... Doing a simple google search of "China+rape" yields a multitude of results (from non-chinese sources) Not saying India's any better, but at least their media reports rapes and their country is vocalizing it and trying to make their country better.... Unlike the Chinese media...
