Pakistan's New Fighter Jets Can Change the Balance: The Impact of Pakistan's First...

May be if you look around, you will also find that China and Pakistan both have hundreds of A-5, mig-21, etc to replace too. The question is not "does china has the money" to replace "each and every" plane with a J-11 and J-10 but the question is "should they?" PLAAF has a huge fleet that...

Pakistan's growing software expertise increasing its defence capabilities

You do not work for the army directly like that. In other words, army does not hire software developers. Your best chance is to work for organizations related to the army like NESCOM/NDC, Air weapons complex, PAC Kamra, KRL labs, PAEC, etc. And if there is an on-going project in the lab...

PLAAF to Fly 5th Generation Fighter

Apparently, those who have seen it have described it as "a frog", and this fan's render is very close to the real thing except that leading edge at the tail is larger in the real thing. I quote further

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

Avian, We are talking two things. First is the capacity to produce and second is whether or not they will be produced. For the first 50, money has been released (well its on seller's credit) so finances is not an issue. I believe they will raise production to about 16 aircrafts per year by...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

^^ araz sahib, PAC already has a huge order to fulfill before we can even think of exports. Remember, the capacity will be gradually increased from 10-12 planes a year to 20-25 a year so the second assembly line could be that. I don't think PAC will be occupying itself with export at this...

    PAC And China,s JXX/J14 Project

Let me clear the JF-17 production once for all. 2010 - PAC will make 10-12 aircrafts this year. 2011 - PAC will be making around 15-16 aircrafts per year. Onwards - PAC can make 20-25 aircrafts per year. The capacity is not the problem, its the finances and the rate PAF wants to absorb...

More Than Just A New Radar

I guess air cooling is the standard way for cooling. Those side vents are there for this specific purpose.

Pakistan Eyes Acquisition of Chinese Training Aircraft

PLAAF (and China in general) tend to go with only local materials and the L-15 uses a Ukranian engine. Even Chinese K-8 have a local engine while PAF K-8 has a US engine. PLAAF choice will be influenced by local engine more, something that PAF doesn't have to bother about--and it will also...

Pakistan Eyes Acquisition of Chinese Training Aircraft

I tend to agree with you..I am not very happy about this news either. However just to put a few things into perspective, irrespective of what happened to the LCA across the border, they do now have an industrial base set up. If we had one, and some time, it would have been possible for...

    French Avionics for JF-17

Thanks Araz, that was my first request of the equipment and this thread went another way. Well, IMHO, I won't be disappointed if its a capable PDR. Most people here just compare radars on the basis of their maximum range--because in part, it helps in future **** measuring contests. The reality...

Pakistan Eyes Acquisition of Chinese Training Aircraft

Well, the question is how sure are we about this? Is pakistan (and china) willing to invest in a twin seater version of the JF-17 anytime soon? The investment in a twin-seater, and time required both for design and testing might have lead towards the L-15 as a cheaper alternative.

Pakistan Eyes Acquisition of Chinese Training Aircraft

A very valid remark. I just hope this does not signal that there won't be a twin seater JF-17, atleast in the near future. Also going for a twin-engined trainer would just raise the running expenditure as well as maintenance. Unless ofcourse, this signals the possible arrive of a future...
