Yeah i consumed a tank a week while commuting to work. The biggest problem is the lack of data in any sector. We didn’t have data on potential tax evaders, until now. Data for that was collected from multiple sources and now 4 million potential tax evaders have been identified. Let’s hope they...

Yeah but 4rs a litre is not that big a hike. For every 100 litres you have to pay 400 rs more. As for the prices, i assure you the prices are the same since the last 3 years. I also buy vegetables and fruits. The prices for many items is the same as last year.

Have faith brother. We survived 113rs a litre (PPP govt) . And at that time even the dollar was not where it is now. I know the impact can’t be softened because it is a burden. But as i said, there is no easy way back for us . The economy needs severe fixing and it won’t happen in the short term.

Can we implement direct taxation without the budget?? We are yet to pass the first budget of this government. Also note i am privy to an exercise which has identified 4 million tax evaders and are coming for them. Once we widen the tax net , things will get better Insha’Allah .

Bhai what do you expect the government to do in this scenario? When international oil prices are going skywards? We can’t afford anymore subsidies. Thank the “golden period of democracy “ for this. Insha’Allah this will pass but there is hardship ahead for at least a year.

for those whom oppose child marriage law - shameful

Agreed. This is exploitation at it’s worst. Influentials get away with a lot more than child marriages. But how else do you prevent influentials from forcibly marrying these underage girls, which belong to poor families. Legislation and laws are only effective when someone implements them. So...

for those whom oppose child marriage law - shameful

The law is being introduced to stop that very consummation. You know our nation doesn’t stop until there is a law to prevent them. We as a nation only respond to the stick. That’s where some sense should prevail. Though i do agree, even laws in this country are frequently broken. As the CII...
