Iran navy to build new destroyers

Wonder if the newer ships will be armed better right now it looks more like a lightly armed corvette.

India Floats a New Bid for Six New Tankers

Doesn't India have some ridiculous tender policy where the lowest bidder wins? In most cases the best choice isn't the cheapest one. The Russian IL-86 will obviously be cheaper but it won't be the refueler the IAF wants. They should just by the Airbus A330 they are newer and they can double as...

You do realize that there is never any TOT through FMS agreements right? Offsets yes, TOT no.

Italy plans to acquire large number of Superjets

    Indian navy's Project 17-A

Doesn't that price include parts and maintenance for the ships entire life?

Why i would Pick Gripen NG for MMRCA

That is an incredibly biased report. Its not even funny. So the euro fighter which has less US parts than the gripen shouldn't be considered due to sanctions but the Gripen is fine?? Umm where's the logic in that. the Gripen has its most crucial parts sourced from the US. Also having US parts...

Russia wins large contract to modernize Indian Su-30MKI fighters

No it will just be an upgrade 4.5 gen aircraft. The only aircraft that you could make a case for a 4.75 gen fighter is the F-15SE and even that's a stretch.

    Indian navy's Project 17-A

As unconventional as the design is the swordfish has some impressive specs, looks great for a stealth frigate. Probably would be too expensive to build though. I thought that India was going to have the stealth tech from Sweden's visby corvettes incorporated or was that just another internet...

Russia wins large contract to modernize Indian Su-30MKI fighters

There are a couple of things wrong with the source you posted. First of all no one knows the full details of the upgrade. Its all speculation. The quote price could include spare parts, training etc. That would surely drive up the price. The 100 million dollars could include new weaponry...

    Indian navy's Project 17-A

Those numbers are way too optimistic. India won't have anywhere near that number by 2020. I don't think India can have six fully operational nuclear submarines in 9 years. They haven't even laid down the hulls for the others besides the arihant and one other. The scorpenes are delayed, the new...

    Mirage 2000-5 vs F16 Block 50+ Dogfight

Not necessarily, all of the exported Mirages are basically variants of Frances Mirage 2000C/D. They are not that customized. The Mirage-2000 has standard blocks the Mirage2000-5 and the M2000-5 mk II. France funded both of the variants, they are extensive upgrades. With regards to the dash-9...

What Russia’s Stealth Fighter Developments Mean for America

The PAK-FA Saga Episode XV - Key Publishing Ltd Aviation Forums Here's the current Pak-Fa thread. you can go and search for the previous ones where there is a huge debate over whether the picture is photoshopped or not. MP.net has one giant PAK-FA thread. I figure that the compressor...

What Russia’s Stealth Fighter Developments Mean for America

That is a photoshopped photo, it was debunked on MP.net and key pubs a while ago. The engine blades are probably exposed but no where near what's shown in the picture.

    The cockpit of Tejas

If the pilots like the new cockpit better who are we to argue. They're the ones that have to use it. It may not be the most visually pleasing, thankfully HAL is taking the pilots wishes into consideration.

Dassault Rafale, tender | News & Discussions

I think you missed what i was saying. F-22's always fly with those humongous drop tanks when conducting exercises with foreign air forces. This way no foreign airforce knows the real RCS value for the Raptor. Yeah the Typhoon detected it but that was when the RCS went up several magnitudes...

Topol Ballistic missile hits the target at firing range in Kazakhstan

Isn't the Topol being replaced in the coming years? I thought that its being replaced with the RS-24.

PLAN's AWAC for aircraft carriers have been finished!

Well any carrier that is produced after the Varyag would be considered a new class. China doesn't have the blue prints to the Varyag, unless I'm mistaken. Also will the Varyag be made combat ready? I thought when it was bought from Ukraine that the agreement was that it wouldn't be made combat...

Dassault Rafale, tender | News & Discussions

The raptors were definitely carrying drop tanks or something that increases the RCS. They never do exercises without them. So the F-22 locks the typhoons got would never have happened in a real BVR fight.
