I am not from the north. But we don't call it momos for the steamed buns. In our dialect we call it man-thau. I hope I got the right spelling.
Also, the momos he's talking about is very similar to Jiao zi which is steamed and has fillings in it. It's not a bun though. Like we call the buns Bao zi.

No, dumpling is an English word. Dim sum means snack or small eats in Cantonese.
But there is nothing called as momo in Chinese except that homo @pothead wasn't aware. :rofl:
