I think as a Pakistani Fan it is clear , our team is just not at same level as Australia, India or England their is a very visible gap in "Batting Skills"

• Both England/India Openers have been solid , and scored a good 100 run partnerships and continue to play beyond it

To see 140-150 runs for 1 Wicket is only a Dream for Pakistani Fans , typically we are
120 run / 3 wicket by mid point of game

Agreed. The problem is of nepotism in Cricket in Pakistan, as in other fields.
I don't know about Hafiz, but Malik had been shaking few trees for very long so he can be selected in the WC squad months before the squad was announced. I am sure Hafiz must have some insiders on his side too.
Same thing goes for Imam, we know who is on his side.
If majority of your players are selected on this basis, you can kiss merits and chances good bye.
